INFO: Version Using 2010 Assemblies

May 13, 2010 at 8:01 AM
At the request of a few people I took a look tonight at a quick compile using the V 10 (2010) assemblies. We currently have one issue in the compilation that will have to be fixed first. This isn't to say there wouldn't be other runtime items after that but without doubt it won't build until one portion gets some refactoring. The application uses AddGroupControl which has been moved to internal in the 2010 libraries thus compilation against the 2010 assemblies fails there. This will get adjusted and then tested against 2010 and 2008 using a version compiled purely against the 2010 assemblies.

Have a version for only TE 2010 would be great.

For new installations the TE 2008 + Sp1 + forward compability is a steep requisite. That would be my first request for this usefull tool.

I totally agree with you. We are already working on porting TFS Administration Tool 2.0 to use the Team Foundation Server 2010 object model. I do not want to commit to any schedule, but we are doing our best to release an update of the tool as soon as possible. Please keep an eye on the project web site for updates on the next release.

Thanks, Ladislau

We are also 2010 only users. can you provide some idea of when a 2010 only version will be available?  Thanks! Bob

I'd like to endorse this request, too.  Thanks, Dany

The team is actively working on an updated version of TFS Administration Tool which uses the 2010 object model.

Thanks, Ladislau

AddGroupControl has not been moved internal (at least not in the Microsoft.TeamFoundation assemblies of the TeamExplorer2010). I placed a file in the Issue Tracker for the team. Regards, Dany
